Selena Gomez et David Henrie, anciens magiciens de Waverly Place, ont annoncé lundi une première virtuelle pour le prochain film de David Henrie, This Is the Year.
La première virtuelle aura lieu le 28 août à 7h30 EDT. Les fans peuvent acheter des billets pour l’événement sur le site officiel du film au prix de 11,99 $.
Le billet comprendra l’accès à une soirée d’avant-spectacle mettant en vedette Gomez et David Henrie, le film, une session de questions-réponses en direct avec la distribution, animée par Charli et Dixie D’Amelio de TikTok, et une performance du Lovelytheband.
This Is the Year est une comédie pour adolescents sur un lycéen ringard (Lorenzo Henrie) qui tente de séduire la fille de ses rêves en se lançant dans un voyage en voiture avec ses amis. Ce road trip consiste à voir le Lovelytheband au plus grand festival de musique de l’année.
Vanessa Marano, Jake Short, Alyssa Jirrels, Gregg Sulkin, Bug Hall, David Henrie, Jeff Garlin, Laura Marano, Kate Katzman, Gregg Christee et Big Joe Henry sont également en vedette.
« Avec toute la folie qui règne dans le monde, un film qui fait du bien est exactement ce dont nous avons besoin », a déclaré M. Gomez aux côtés de David Henrie dans une vidéo sur la première virtuelle.
This Is the Year est le premier film de David Henrie qu’il a écrit avec Pepe Portillo et Hall. Gomez est producteur exécutif.
David Henrie a déjà affirmé sur Twitter qu’il travaillait avec Gomez sur un nouveau projet commun.
Gomez and David Henrie starred on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place for four seasons from 2007 to 2012. The series also spawned a Disney Channel movie.

Selena Gomez, David Henrie set for ‘This Is the Year’ virtual event

Former Wizards of Waverly Place co-stars Selena Gomez and David Henrie announced on Monday a virtual premiere for David Henrie’s upcoming film, This Is the Year.
The virtual premiere will take place on Aug. 28 at 7:30 EDT. Fans can purchase tickets to the event from the film’s official website for $11.99.
The ticket will include access to a pre-show party featuring Gomez and David Henrie, the film, a live Q+A session with the cast, hosted by Charli and Dixie D’Amelio of TikTok fame, and a performance by Lovelytheband.
This Is the Year is a teen comedy about a nerdy high schooler (Lorenzo Henrie) who tries to win over the girl of his dreams by embarking on a road trip with his friends. The road trip is to see Lovelytheband at the year’s biggest music festival.

« With all the craziness going on in the world, a feel good movie is just what we need, » Gomez said alongside David Henrie in a video about the virtual premiere.
This Is the Year is David Henrie’s directorial debut which he wrote with Pepe Portillo and Hall. Gomez serves as an executive producer.
David Henrie previously teased on Twitter that he was working with Gomez on a new project together.
