Les Minnesota Timberwolves détiennent la meilleure sélection de la draft de cette année après avoir remporté la loterie de la draft NBA 2020 jeudi soir.
Les T-Wolves avaient 14 % de chances de gagner la première sélection générale et 40,1 % de chances d’entrer dans le trio de tête.
Avant cette année, les Timberwolves ne détenaient le premier choix de l’ébauche qu’une seule fois dans l’histoire de la franchise. Avec ce choix, l’organisation a sélectionné l’ancien grand manitou du Kentucky, Karl-Anthony Towns, dans la draft 2015.
Les Golden State Warriors ont pris la deuxième place, suivis par les Charlotte Hornets en troisième position et les Chicago Bulls en quatrième. Les Cleveland Cavaliers (5e), les Atlanta Hawks (6e), les Detroit Pistons (7e), les New York Knicks (8e), les Washington Wizards (9e) et les Phoenix Suns (10e) complètent le top 10.
Anthony Edwards, l’ancien joueur de la NBL, LaMelo Ball, et James Wiseman, le grand manitou de Memphis, sont tous considérés comme les meilleurs candidats à être sélectionnés avec le premier choix.

Minnesota Timberwolves win No. 1 overall pick in 2020 NBA draft lottery

The Minnesota Timberwolves hold the top-overall selection in this year’s draft after winning the 2020 NBA draft lottery Thursday night.
The T-Wolves had a 14% chance to win the No. 1 overall pick and a 40.1% chance to land inside the top three.
Before this year, the Timberwolves held the top draft choice only once in franchise history. With that pick, the organization selected former Kentucky big man Karl-Anthony Towns in the 2015 draft.
The Golden State Warriors grabbed the No. 2 pick, followed by the Charlotte Hornets at No. 3 and the Chicago Bulls at No. 4. The Cleveland Cavaliers (fifth), Atlanta Hawks (sixth), Detroit Pistons (seventh), New York Knicks (eighth), Washington Wizards (ninth) and Phoenix Suns (10th) rounded out the top 10.
Georgia standout Anthony Edwards, former NBL star LaMelo Ball and Memphis big man James Wiseman are all considered the top candidates to be selected with the first pick.
